PSARA License — Operate Your Security Agency Legally
Any private security agency deploying guards, bouncers, or security supervisors in India must hold a valid PSARA license issued by the Controlling Authority of each state. We handle the MOU with a training institute, document preparation, and state authority filing — end to end.

The law that governs every private security agency in India
The Private Security Agencies Regulation Act, 2005 (PSARA) mandates that any agency deploying private security guards — whether for residential complexes, banks, offices, events, or industrial sites — must obtain a license from the Controlling Authority of each state where it operates. Without it, deploying even a single guard is a criminal offence punishable with imprisonment and fine.
Legal Mandate
Operating without PSARA makes every guard deployment illegal — contracts with clients can be voided.
Win Government Contracts
PSUs, banks, airports and government departments only hire PSARA-licensed agencies.
5-Year Validity
One application is valid for 5 years per state — no annual renewal hassle.
Client Trust
A valid PSARA license is the most visible proof of legitimacy when pitching corporate clients.
Multi-State Expansion
Each state requires a separate license — we handle multi-state filings simultaneously.
MOU Sorted for You
Every application needs an MOU with a recognised training institute — we arrange one.

PSARA questions we answer every day
Any individual, firm, or company providing private security services — including static guards, mobile patrol, personal protection officers, event security, or bouncer services — must hold a valid PSARA license in every state where they deploy personnel.
No — PSARA is state-specific legislation. You need a separate license from the Controlling Authority of each state you operate in. We handle multi-state applications simultaneously to reduce the overall timeline.
PSARA mandates that all deployed security guards must be trained to the standards set by the PSARA Rules, 2009. The MOU with a recognised training institute is proof that your agency has committed to providing this training. Most applications stall here — we arrange the MOU for you.
Typically 45–90 working days from the date of application, depending largely on how quickly the state police complete the mandatory background verification of directors/proprietors. We follow up proactively to keep things moving.
No — deploying guards without a valid PSARA license is a criminal offence under Section 4 of the Act, punishable with imprisonment up to one year and/or a fine. You must wait for the license to be issued before beginning operations.
A PSARA license is valid for 5 years and must be renewed before expiry by filing a renewal application with the Controlling Authority. Operations cannot continue on an expired license. We track renewal dates for all our clients and alert them well in advance.
